Item Duplication Glitch in Pokémon Fire Red & Leaf Green (Mail Glitch)

Pokemon Leaf Green and Fire Red just dropped on Nintendo Switch. So I'm going to show you the mail glitch to duplicate items from Rare Candies and Master Balls to Nuggets.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Catch yourself a Spearow. You can find it in the grass in Route 4. Once you've caught it, you'll need to head for Vermilion City to trade it for a Farfetch'd.

Next you need Mr. Mime. It's another easy trade. So find yourself an Abra on Route 24.

Now head back to Vermilion City, go through Diglett's Cave until you reach a house on Route 2 that has an NPC inside looking to trade for a Mr. Mime.

Train up your Farfetch'd to level 21 and teach it the move Knock Off. Also, train up your Mr. Mime to level 33 so he can learn the move Recycle.

Now get yourself an Oran Berry and some Mail (6 at least). You can buy this from the Celadon City Department Store.

STEP 1

Ok, let's start the glitch! So clear out your Pokemon party so that you only have 3 Pokemon on you. You'll need your Mr. Mime, Farfetch'd, and any Pokemon for your third.

Give the random third Pokemon the Oran Berry to hold, and give Mr. Mime the Mail to hold.

When told to select words in the Mail, most people go for Abra, but you can use anything.

STEP 2

Swap your party around so that Farfetch'd is first, the random Pokemon is second, and Mr. Mime is third.

Now you'll need to go and find a double battle. As soon as you find one, save your game. And then you're ready to start the battle.

STEP 3

When the fight starts put all of your effort into getting your random Pokemon to eat it's Oran Berry. Don't forget if this goes wrong, you have a save you can load up to and start again.

As soon as your Pokemon eats it's Berry, have Farfetch'd use Knock Off on your other Pokemon.

You'll then take your random Pokemons turn, for this you'll want to swap it out for Mr. Mime.

This will cause Mr. Mime to be hit by Knock Off when he comes out. Now have Mr. Mime use Recycle. This will confuse the game, causing Mr. Mime to get an Oran Berry back and not the Mail.

Now all you've got to do is finish the fight. It doesn't matter if Mr. Mime eats the Berry, it doesn't matter if you lose. Just finish the fight.

Check Mr. Mime after the fight, if he's not holding the mail, the glitch has worked.

STEP 4

Head to the Pokemon Centre and fill your team with Pokemon. Give 5 of the Pokemon in your party some Mail and make sure to choose the same word as you selected before.

And for the 6th Pokemon, give it the item you wish to duplicate. So a Master Ball, Nugget, Rare Candy, whatever you want.

Now all you've got to do is try to give the 6th Pokemon some Mail. The game will ask if you want to swap the item you initially game the Pokemon, just select yes, and you'll noticed there are no words in the Mail this time. It will be filled with ???. Just hit OK and come out of this. You'll notice in your inventory the Mail has duplicated your item.

You're now set up to do this over and over with different items. Just continue from Step 4, give your 6th Pokemon the mail, then give it an item you wish to duplicate. Do this over and over until you're happy!
